About ShieldTech Systems

The SnapLink ™ Family of Point-to-Point Wireless data links are made by ShieldTech Systems.

ShieldTech is based in Annapolis Maryland (just south of Baltimore). We’re a privately held company focused on millimeter wave wireless communication. Our founders are a mix of specialty engineer designers with more than 25 years experience in millimeter-wave and several former “Big-System” sales and network operations people. Since 2002 or so, we’d all been thinking about what the dramatic increase in Wireless data meant and were looking for solutions that could offer clean frequencies that most end-users could afford and operate.

In 2005 we got tired of looking and decided to make just such a product ourselves.

The SnapLink Core ™ premiered in Nov 2007 after extensive design and field trials and is the first Millimeter-wave link with a built-in LED alignment system, robust and simple enough to be mounted and aligned by non-technical personnel and listing for US$6,950. But when we were building and operating networks we wanted as much choice as possible. So when we started creating the SnapLink we wanted it to be strong enough to provide the very best communications but be flexible enough to meet a variety of end-user needs. The logical choice was a platform system.

A platform lets us offer stable, tested product that end-users can rely on, yet still allows us to experiment. While we’re obviously happy that the SnapLink ™ is providing good service to many customers around the world, we enjoy getting together with operators and talking about what they’d like to see in Point-to-Point RF links.

So yes, we’re a small, new (sorta) company. But we’ve a great product that’s growing and we actually answer our own phones. We like nothing better than for our sales team and channel partners to schedule phone or on-site visits with end-users and if you’ve purchased or are thinking of purchasing a SnapLink ™ product ask your sales person to schedule a call today.
